Casting Crowns

Category : Featured Music
Artist : Casting Crowns
UPC : 083061072322
|

|
Description : The debut album from the Atlanta-based seven-piece band. Simple but catchy melodies and rich harmonies, credited to the group's four-part depth, make "Casting Crowns" instantly accessible and able to bring anyone into a center of worship.
In addition to praise, lead singer/songwriter Mark Hall's lyrics also touch upon many key themes and struggles in Christianity, including temptation, obsessive materialism, and witnessing.

Come Together

Category : Featured Music
Artist : Third Day
UPC : 083061066826
|

|
Description : Fresh off their 2000 worship album Offerings, Third Day cranks up the volume knob once again with Come Together. What makes this project intriguing is the contribution of songs by each band member, making for a very personal feel to the lyrics; however, none of the overall theme of unity within the church is lost or affected as a result. In fact, it very well may be enhanced.
A successful blend of funk-infused rock and slower, worshipful ballads makes for an excellent addition to any Christian music library.

Conspiracy No. 5

Category : Featured Music
Artist : Third Day
UPC : 083061026226
|

|
Description : In the opening moments of Conspiracy No. 5, Third Day's sophomore effort, the listener will immediately feel a noticeable shift in the band's sound from their debut album, taking a more eletric, edgy approach with their Southern-influenced music.
What proves to remain steadfast is Mac Powell's soaring, penetrating voice, defining that "Third Day" sound. Another growing expectation for Third Day that is again met is the inclusion of many faith-filled worship tunes, like the long-standing live favorite "My Hope Is You."

Fight the Tide

Category : Featured Music
Artist : Sanctus Real
UPC : 724359299808
|

|
Description : Sanctus Real returned in 2004 with their sophomore album, "Fight The Tide", proving their staying power and continuing their strong influence in today's popular Christian music.
Based out of Toledo, Ohio, Sanctus Real has shown real signs of maturing as an artist between the last album to 'Fight...'. Various themes covered on the album are loneliness, praise and the very true existence of God in our lives. Song highlights on the album include the very powerful opening track "Everything About You", "Alone" and rock ballad "Closer". Also, Sanctus Real makes a very clear statement on the reggae-influenced "The Show" that even during the band's performances God remains center-stage.
"Fight The Tide" is a great album to introduce to that friend who perhaps is not a believer but who is searching. Sanctus Real promises to continue being a strong force in the Christian music scene for years to come.

Jars Of Clay

Category : Featured Music
Artist : Jars Of Clay
UPC : 083061557324
|

|
Description : In 1991, a relatively unknown acoustic-rock quartet under the name 'Jars Of Clay' formed and began writing Christian music in Nashville. Little did anyone know that four years later the band would take the Christian music world by storm.
Rarely ever does a band record the perfect debut album, but Jars Of Clay's self-titled disc may be just that: Christian music at its very finest. Almost every track is a hit unto itself, but definite standouts are "Liquid", the beautiful confession of "Love Song For A Savior", "Boy On A String" and "Flood", which is still regarded and endeared ten years later as Jars Of Clay's biggest hit. Instrumentally, the album is incredibly diverse, featuring violin and even a lulling string quartet arrangement.
Primarly focused on forgiveness, renewal of commitment and God's grace, I would recommend this album to any Christian, but especially to those searching for that certain "unplugged" sound.
