Description : In 1991, a relatively unknown acoustic-rock quartet under the name 'Jars Of Clay' formed and began writing Christian music in Nashville. Little did anyone know that four years later the band would take the Christian music world by storm.
Rarely ever does a band record the perfect debut album, but Jars Of Clay's self-titled disc may be just that: Christian music at its very finest. Almost every track is a hit unto itself, but definite standouts are "Liquid", the beautiful confession of "Love Song For A Savior", "Boy On A String" and "Flood", which is still regarded and endeared ten years later as Jars Of Clay's biggest hit. Instrumentally, the album is incredibly diverse, featuring violin and even a lulling string quartet arrangement.
Primarly focused on forgiveness, renewal of commitment and God's grace, I would recommend this album to any Christian, but especially to those searching for that certain "unplugged" sound.

"What the Church needs to-day is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use -- men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men, men of prayer."
