On Saturday, April 5th the annual Janet McDonald Walk Against Cancer will be taking place in Avon starting at the Avon Baptist Church. Janet's sister is Bonnie Devine, one of our church and choir member. The Janet McDonald Memorial Walk Against Cancer is an annual fundraiser, aimed at finding a cure for cancer. Every penny raised is sent directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Immunotherapy Research Department. With your participation and support, we will come one step closer to a world without cancer. For more information, go to www.janetmcdonaldwalk.org or give the church office a call. Thanks.

Summer is here at last. The busy school year has come to an end and schedules are (hopefully) a just a bit less hectic for us all. It is amazing that we run a the pace we all do to accomplish so much in all aspects of our lives. Many of us use the summer to look ahead and consider fresh possibilities.
Looking forward, starting anew is something our graduates will do this summer, as they ponder and prepare for their future, whether it is college or career. As a Church Family and community, please let’s congratulate the following graduates on a job well done in their academic endeavors: Chris Brewer, Robert Brewer, Janel Cookson, Devon Crowley, Nathaniel Hockenberry, Joshua Huston, Michael Ikasalo, Amanda Morrison, Samantha Russo, Jocelyn St. James, and Matt Winders. To them and all the graduates out there, we tip our hat to your accomplishment. If we missed someone you know, please let our office know so we can honor them with the others this month. Thanks.

Special Kindness in Packages needs your help! Christmas time was a busy season for getting care packages to our service men and women overseas. In addition, S.K.I.P. has gotten national attention lately and the demand for packages is at an all-time high. Click here or the above logo to visit the S.K.I.P. $10k drive page to see how you can:
- Give your company or organization some wonderful, positive visibility
- Tell the world how you grateful you are for the service of a particular soldier
- Or just plain say "thanks" to all of our service men and women serving overseas
Please be sure to tell your friends, family, and co-workers about this important mission. Thanks!

The Cranberry Council of Churches presents the 2007 competition on Souper Bowl Sunday, February 4, 2007. Last year our eight member churches raised $10,900. The competition between churches can be fierce!
This year we are grateful for the Feinstein Foundation which will match every dollar raised and add $1 for every food item donated! Everyone is a winner - the Food Pantry and all those who rely on them for their daily bread. All donations must be made on Souper Bowl Sunday to count. Please make checks payable to Cranberry Council of Churches and write Souper Bowl on the memo line.
