WELCOME TO THE FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH IN HANSON !

Our church has a welcoming atmosphere where you can
feel at home for the first time or for a lifetime.
On Sunday mornings we offer two worship experiences:
- A Traditional Service at 9:00 a.m. which features hymns, a Biblically
based message and special music from our wonderful organist and Senior choir. This service celebrates the traditional pilgrim worship that brought us here. Nursery is available.
- Our 11:00 a.m. Worship Service is for individuals and young families
who desire a less formal atmosphere - It features a full band, lively worship, dramas and a
Biblically based message which connects with our daily lives. During the school year, all Sunday School classes attend the first 15-20 minutes of this service for cool praise and worship songs and a brief message before heading off to class.
Nursery is also available.
- Following the 9:00 a.m. service, there will be a full hour of coffee and fellowship. All are encouraged to come early or stay later to cross paths with brothers and sisters in the church family. Coffee and fellowship will also follow the 11:00 a.m. service.
This Sunday, May 26, 2013, the scripture lesson is taken from Joshua 4:1-7. The message to be shared is entitled, "Memorial Day - Why Remember?". Please join us at one of these wonderful worship services.
Following each worship service we offer a great time for making new
friends in our Fellowship Hall.
Our children also have a chance to worship, make friends and learn about God:
During the school year, we offer a comprehensive, developmental, Bible-based Sunday School program for children aged three through Grade 12.
All classes meet at 11:00 AM. Nursery is available all
morning.
What you experience on Sunday morning is only a small picture of what our
church has to offer. We have activities Prayer Groups, mid-week Bible
Studies, and Family nights. We encourage you to touch on some of the ministry links on this website to
learn more about us.

“What is the meaning of life?”
If you are one of the many people who are asking this same question, First Congregational Church in Hanson invites you to attend the Alpha Course on Wednesday nights, at 7pm.
Alpha is an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. People of different backgrounds, religions, and viewpoints come together to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions. Some people want to investigate if God exists or if there is any point to life, others may have attended church on and off their whole life but never understood the basics of the Christian faith. The objective is the same: Is Jesus Christ relevant for my life? Come explore. Everyone is welcome.

Dinner and a Movie—Saturday, May 11th--5:00p.m. —
$5.00 & Canned Goods for the Food Pantry- The Money Raised Will Go Towards repairing our front steps. Our 4th graders will be serving our dinners as a part of this fund raiser !
On SATURDAY May 11th, dinner will be served at 5:00 p.m. followed by a movie at 6:15.
This month our movie is “Memorial Day” . This is an excellent movie which follows the stories of a grandfather and grandson as they each served our country through the military.

This is to inform you that because of the recent storm and many families still without power, the Cranberry Council ASH WEDNESDAY Service will be postponed and combined with the Lenten Service to be held on Wednesday, February 20th. This will be held at FCCHanson beginning with a POTLUCK SUPPER at 6:30 p.m. followed by WORSHIP at 7:15 p.m. Please keep those wtill without power in your prayers. Thank you.

Our February Dinner and a Movie is CANCELLED DUE TO SNOW STORM
Our March dinner is scheduled for Saturday March 16th with Corned Beef and Cabbage in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
Hope you can join us then.
Our Movie is: "Fireproof" - This movie tells the story of a married couple whose love has grown cold and the steps taken to "rekindle the fire". There is no cost to attend the movie which will begin at 6:15 p.m.

Are you in need of prayer or do you know someone who is, or maybe you wish to thank and praise God for all His blessings! Whatever the reason, you are welcome to come and share Scripture and pray together with your church family! There is power in prayer, especially in collective prayer! Tuesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Please come, even if you can't be there right on time..Come when you can or let us know what we can be praying for you.
Matthew 18:20- "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

We are studying the New Testament book of 2nd Corinthians this Winter on Wednesday nights in our Conference Room at 7:30 p.m.. A couple Study guides are still available for $6.00
Even if you've never studied the Bible before, please join us. You will not only learn more of God's Word, but will be able to talk about practical ways we can put what we learn into practice. See you there!

Pastor Cindy will be leading a new round of New Member classes in January on Sundays at 1:00 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to respond to God's nudge for membership or to just check out a little more of what we do here. No commitment and the door is always open. If interested, please check the "interested in joining" box of the attendance sheet in the pews, or call the office. The dates for the classes will be posted soon.

Once again our Youth Groups are selling beautiful calendars featuring Scripture verses and beautiful pictures. We are also selling Christmas Wreaths. Look for the Youth table in the Fellowship Hall to pick up yours and help our Youth in raising funds to offset Retreat and other event costs.
