Our church is in fellowship with the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches

May 23, 2015

Are you looking...
...for a place to belong?
...for a place to be loved?
...for God?

Our church has a welcoming atmosphere where you can feel at home for the first time or for a lifetime.

On Sunday mornings we offer two worship experiences:

  • A Traditional Service at 9:00 a.m. which features hymns, a Biblically based message and special music from our wonderful organist and Senior choir. This service celebrates the traditional pilgrim worship that brought us here. Nursery is available.
  • Our 11:00 a.m. Worship Service is for individuals and young families who desire a less formal atmosphere - It features a full band, lively worship, dramas and a Biblically based message which connects with our daily lives. During the school year, all Sunday School classes attend the first 15-20 minutes of this service for cool praise and worship songs and a brief message before heading off to class. Nursery is also available.
  • Following the 9:00 a.m. service, there will be a full hour of coffee and fellowship. All are encouraged to come early or stay later to cross paths with brothers and sisters in the church family. Coffee and fellowship will also follow the 11:00 a.m. service.

This Sunday, May 24, 2015, the scripture lesson is taken from Acts 2:1-6, 12-21. The message to be shared is entitled, ""The Essential Ingredient of a Transformed Life". Please join us at one of these wonderful worship services.

Following each worship service we offer a great time for making new friends in our Fellowship Hall.

Our children also have a chance to worship, make friends and learn about God: During the school year, we offer a comprehensive, developmental, Bible-based Sunday School program for children aged three through Grade 12. All classes meet at 11:00 AM. Nursery is available all morning.

What you experience on Sunday morning is only a small picture of what our church has to offer. We have activities Prayer Groups, mid-week Bible Studies, and Family nights. We encourage you to touch on some of the ministry links on this website to learn more about us.

Posted by: bcraig on Dec 24, 2014 - 10:15 AM
Christian Life
All are encouraged and welcomed to join us on Wednesday night, December 24th, for our annual traditional candlelight Christmas Eve Worship starting at 11:00 pm. This Worship has been part of families in Hanson and surrounding communities for generations and this is a great time to gather the family, being some friends, and share the joy of Christ's birth with the singing of carols, music by some of the Bell Choir members and the message for this season. This service is capped off with a wonderful candlelight singing of "Silent Night" ending with "Joy to the World" as we welcome the Baby Jesus among us. This will be our only service on Christmas Eve, so we hope to see many of you at this special event.

Christian Life
In this time of Advent and exciting opportunities that our church is experiencing, the next three Sundays (Dec 14, 21, & 28) will all be Unified Services. This mean we will be having one service ONLY on those Sundays starting at 10am each week. On Dec 14th, our congregation will be introduced and hear the Message from our Search Committee's recommended candidate. A business meeting will follow Worship. The following Sunday, Dec 21st, is our annual Festival of Carols where we have a service of music from all the groups of the church and seasonal Scripture readings. The Sunday after Christmas, Dec 28th, will be the final Unified Service for this year and a time to Worship together after Christmas. Finally, no Sunday School during these three weeks, but nursery services are available. We look forward to sharing and worshiping together in this important time of the Christian year.

Celebrate World Communion Sunday on Oct 5th
Posted by: bcraig on Sep 25, 2014 - 11:20 AM
Christian Life
World Communion Sunday offers congregations a distinctive opportunity to experience Holy Communion in the context of the global community of faith. The first Sunday of October has become a time when Christians in every culture break bread and pour the cup to remember and affirm Christ as the Head of the Church. FCCH will be celebrating this important day of Communion with the rest of the world on Sunday, Oct 5th at both of our services. On that day, we remember that we are part of the whole body of believers. Christians celebrate communion in as many ways as there are congregations, but the belief and symbolism on World Communion Sunday can be both a profound worship experience and a time for learning more about our wider community of faith. Please join us on this important day of faith.

Random Quote

"We must feel toward our people as a father toward his children; yea, the most tender love of a mother must not surpass ours. We must even travail in birth, till Christ be formed in them. They should see that we care for no outward thing, neither liberty, nor honor, nor life, in comparison to their salvation... When the people see that you truly love them, they will hear anything from you...Oh therefore, see that you feel a tender love for your people in your hearts, and let them perceive it in your speech and conduct. Let them see that you spend and are spent for their sakes."
